Moving Data from DanceWorks to DanceWorks Online
If you have been using the desktop version of DanceWorks and are switching to DanceWorks Online we can upload one of the sessions from the desktop program for you. This prevents you from having to do all of the data entry again and allows to keep all of your financial history intact.
When you sign-up for DanceWorks Online you will receive a welcome email. To send us your data simply reply to that email with the back-up file attached. The following will walk you through creating the back-up file to be attached.
To Create a Back-up File in DanceWorks (desktop):
- Log into the DanceWorks session that you want to back up.
- Click on the File menu in the top left corner.
- Click on Backup Data from the file menu.
- Use the button to Change the Drive and choose the location to save the back-up file.
- Click the Next button.
- Check the box to select the correct file to be backed up.
- Click the Next button.
- Click the Backup button.
- You will now have a file saved in your chosen location named Dbase00.zip (the number will correspond with the session number that you backed up).
Now that you have created a back-up of your file. Reply to the DanceWorks Welcome email that you received when signing up and attach the dbase00.zip file. Once we receive it we will begin getting your information uploaded. Once the data has been uploaded you will receive an automated email letting you know that your data is ready.

How long does it take for you to upload our backup file to the online version? We have classes Sunday thru Thursday, so we would really need to send you our DB on Friday morning and need it ready to go by Sunday am, is this possible?
My apologies. I am just seeing this post. Generally, if you send us your file during our office hours we can have it up in 30 minutes to an hour.
I have Danceworks software for my Dance studio & been using it for the last 9 years. I would like to convert to the online system, but need help doing it. How do I go about it?
I have just emailed you with instructions. Be sure to check your spam filter if you do not find my email shortly.
I would also like information about Danceworks online. Can you also send me info?
Thank you for your interest. I don’t really have any information to provide that isn’t currently available on our website. However, if you have specific questions I would love to help you. Feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll gladly answer any questions that we can. ~ Brett
